Question
What methods can I access the user interface on my WR2100 Wireless Repeater?
Answer
The WR2100 built-in web-based user interface is used for configuring and monitoring the status of the connection.  There are two ways to connect to the WR2100.  A direct Ethernet connection or by the wireless Service Set Identifier (SSID).  The SSID of the WR2100 is named as WR2100XXXX and is unsecured.  Once the WR2100  is configured to the connect to the access point, it will inherit the security settings.  The GUI (Graphical User Interface) screen can be accessible by the URL http://www.mywifirepeater.net/ or default IP address http://192.168.0.254.

When the WR2100 successfully connects to the access point, both the URL and the default IP Address maybe inaccessible, there will be need to locate the IP address assigned by the access point. DHCP normally reserves an IP address for each device that is connected to it.  The IP address will be needed to login into the GUI of the WR2100.  This document contains the following sections to connect to the GUI with the web browser.

Accessing the GUI with URL or IP address

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the client to the WR2100.
  2. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://www.mywifirepeater.net/ or http://192.168.0.254 into the address box and press the Enter key.  The Login page appears.
  3. On the Login page:
    a.   Enter admin in the Username field.
    b.   Enter password in the Password field.
