Question
How do I login to the T25 Web Manager for the first time?
Answer
The Web Manager is used to monitor the network configuration settings and operational status of the T25 Cable Modem.  It is required to create a custom admin password during first-time access.  The default username is admin and cannot be changed.  On firmware prior to version 11.02.057.07, the Status page will appear during the first-time access to the Web Manager and will not be asked to create a custom admin password.  This article contains the following sections:
Retrieve the Last 3 Digit of the S/N on the Label
  1. Turn the T25 over with the bottom facing up to view the label. 
     
  2. Locate the last 3 digit of the S/N.

Web Manager Access

NOTE: If the T25 is connected to a router, it is recommended to disconnect the router and connect the T25 directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable.
  1. Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.  Enter http://192.168.100.1 into the address box.  The Welcome! page will appear.

    NOTE 1: A security or private risk alert may appear on the web browser advising users to proceed with caution when accessing the Web Manager.  There is no risk in proceeding to the Web Manager.  For instructions to by-pass the alert screen, refer to article # 18181 - Alert Message for Web Manager Access.


    NOTE 2: On firmware prior to version 11.02.057.07, the Status page will appear and will not be asked to create a custom admin password.
     
  2. On the Welcome! page, enter a new custom admin password in the Enter new password field and re-enter the new custom admin password in the Re-enter new password field. 

    Password Requirements:
    • Minimum of 8 characters 
    • At least one uppercase alpha character 
    • At least 1 number
    • One of ~ ! @ # $ % ^ * (  ) - _ = + [ ] { } | ; : , . / ?
  3. Enter the T25 last 3-digit of the serial number located on the bottom sticker in the Enter last 3 characters of the device serial number field. 

    NOTE: On firmware version 11.02.057.07, the Enter last 3 characters of the device serial number field is unavailable.    

     
  4. Click the Apply button.  The Login page will appear. 

    NOTE: The link for Navigate to login page if you are a technician is used by technicians ONLY.

  5. On the Login page, enter admin in the Username field.
  6. Enter the custom password in the Password field then click the Login button.  The Status page will appear.

The following are descriptions for each page in the T25 menu:
  • Status - Provides information about the startup process of the cable modem.
  • HW/FW Versions - Provides information about the hardware and firmware version of the unit.
  • Event Log - Provides diagnostic messages generated by the cable modem, which is intended for use by a qualified technician.
  • CM State - Provide information about the status of the cable modem's HFC and IP network connectivity.
  • Admin - Provides the ability to change the admin password.
  • Advanced - Used by qualified ISP technicians only.

Failed Login Attempts

The following message appears when the incorrect password is used for login.  "Max number of login attempts reached.  Login will be locked for a period of time.  Please try again later". 
  • After 10 minutes, enter the correct username and password to login.

  • When the login attempts continue to fail, factory reset the T25 to create a custom admin password during Web manager login.  For assistance with factory reset, refer to article # 18099 - T25: Factory Reset.
