Question
How do I change the default admin username password in my SBX-AC1200P?
Answer
When attempting to access the SBX-AC1200P Web Manager for the first time, the SBX-AC1200P prompts for an admin username and password.  By default, the username is admin, and the password is password.  For network security purposes, ARRIS recommends to change the default admin user name and password after logging onto the SBX-AC1200P for the first time.  This document describes how to change the default admin username and password.

Admin Login Consideration
  • Usernames and passwords are case sensitive.
  • Passwords can contain special characters.
  • Backup changes made to the SBX-AC1200P with the default admin login.  Please refer to Article # 16555 SBX-AC1200P: Configuration Backup and Restore Tool.
  • Keep a record of the new admin username and password.  If they are lost, reset to the factory default settings is required to access the SBX-AC1200P's web manager with default admin login credentials.  Please refer to Article # 16522 SBX-AC1200P: Factory Reset.
