Question

How do I enable file sharing on my SBR-AC1750?

Answer

The SBR-AC1750 includes a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port, which supports file sharing through an attached USB storage device. The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server feature is disabled by default and the Share Folders feature is enabled by default.

NOTE: The USB port does NOT support Internet connection and portable USB 3.0 devices.

When the FTP Server feature is enabled, the contents of the attached USB storage device will be accessible from an FTP client on the local area network (LAN).

The Share Folders feature when enabled, the contents of the attached USB storage device will be accessible to the local area network (LAN).

Requirement

A USB 2.0 and 3.0 Storage Device

NOTE: USB 3.0 device requires a power adapter

An FTP client on the (LAN)

Connect USB Storage Device

Connect the USB storage device to the USB port on the back of the SBR-AC1750.
Power on the USB storage device if applicable.

Enable File Sharing

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The Login page appears.

NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.
On the Login page:
a. Enter password in the Password field.
b. Click the Login button. The Home page appears.
Move the mouse-cursor over the USB tab and select the File Sharing sub-link. The USB - File Sharing page appears.
On the USB - File Sharing page:
a. Enable FTP Server - Check mark the box.
b. Enable Share Folders - Check mark the box.
c. Click the Apply button.

Access Content through FTP

Launch the FTP Client.
Access the URL ftp://192.168.0.1/shares.
Click on the Share folder to access the contents.

Access Content through Share Folders

Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter //192.168.0.1 into the address box, and press the Enter key. The attached network device Share folder appears.
Click the Share folder to access the contents.
