Question
What is the purpose for the QR Code on the SBR-AC1200P?
Answer
The QR code is a two dimensional bar code consisting of black and white squares and is located on the label on the bottom of the SBR-AC1200P.  When scanned with a QR reader app such as the ARRIS SURFboard Manager it allows for the configuring of the SURFboard router's home network quick and easy.  With just a few steps the network settings can be customized from a smartphone or tablet.  The ARRIS SURFboard Manager app is available through Google Play and App Store.

NOTE: Other 3rd party QR readers are available through the Google Play or App Store.

Depending on the QR reader the QR code on the SBR-AC1200P can provide the following information:
  • Encryption type
  • WiFi Network Name (SSID)
  • WiFi Passcode (Key)
  • Default Username
  • Default Password
  • Model Number
  • MAC Address
NOTE: Depending on the QR reader, a profile may be created for the WiFi Network Name (SSID) and WiFi Passcode (Key).  When the Wi-Fi is enabled on the smart device it will connect automatically.  Some feature may not be applicable on all 3rd party QR readers.
